Christmas
2012
What
is it about a child
that
makes us smile?
And
hope?
A
baby gurgles,
eyes
flitting wildly about,
arms
and legs flailing the air,
and
grown men take leave of their senses
while
women folk gurgle back.
Newly
minted people,
freshly
formed and sent forth into this world,
remind
all of us of who we once were;
and
who we may, perhaps, still become.
